This story, first broadcast in 1999, is going out again on BBC Radio 4 Extra 3 times on Sunday 14th December. I recalled when I heard this that it was at least in part written when I was doing a short story writing course at Moniack Mhor in 1998, a place where I often now tutor quite frequently!
