Aberdeen Arts Across Learning Festival
16 March 2014
I thoroughly enjoyed working in primary schools in Aberdeen this week as part of the Arts Across Learning Festival. I was encouraging creative writing in response to some documents from 1746 from the City Archives, written after interviews by government authorities with imprisoned Jacobites. Of course they were written in beautifully curly inked handwriting, so as the children settled in to write first person accounts of what had happened to them, we gave them fountain pens to write with. It was certainly an additional incentive and sometimes a messy one!
